GLASS BANKS SERIES
The WHEATON COLLECTIBLES Glass Banks Series are reproductions of some of the many cast Iron Banks so popular in Victorian Times. The Slotted top 6 inch tall Banks were made in 6 different styles in blue and green.
Three of the styles, First National Bank, Vault and Pot Belly Coal stove were also cast in Ruby.
The Lenape Bank of Mays Landing N.J. as a symbol for bank saving promotion selected the Indian Head Bank Reproduction. The Lenape Indian Head Banks were cast in the same top molds but the bottom was changed from WHEATON N.J. to an Indian Wigwam Symbol and the date of the year issued. These banks were dated from 1980 to 1985 and each was a color different from the original Wheaton issue. Since the Lenape banks were made under commission they were not distributed through normal Wheaton outlets to the general public they are not widely available.
