CHRISTMAS DECANTERS SERIES
The WHEATON COLLECTIBLES Christmas Decanters Series was issued for 21 years under the Wheaton name from 1971 thru 1991. During the first 5 years (1971 Thru 1975) the Decanters were made by the NULINE Division of Wheaton Glass Co. on automatic production machines and can be identified by bottom marking of WHEATON NJ and their Pontil trademark, some also were marker First Edition.
In 1976 the production of the decanters was turned over to the Wheaton Village and were HAND made in their 1888 Glass Factory, their Production was limited to 5000 pieces. The Village produced the decanters using the same basic mold shape with different theme inserts for front and back. They continued with the series thru 1981. These decanters had WHEATON VILLAGE - HAND MADE on the bottom.
Starting with the 1982, decanter production was continued by Millville Art Glass still using the original design and still identified as WHEATON HAND MADE on the bottom. The MAG Decanters were produced in limited numbers in different colors then had been used before. They finished the Wheaton Christmas Decanter series with the 1991 Decanter.
Some of the Decanters that were made at Wheaton Village are still available for sale at the Brownstone Emporium Shoppe on the Village grounds.
